“Giving Humans New Senses Through Technology” — Dr. Kiana Aran presents for TEDx San Diego

“Biology has been always speaking to us with electrical signals, we just didn’t have the tools to listen to it… until now”

NSF-CPI Senior Scientist Dr. Kiana Aran recently presented her work on CRISPR-Chips and Bio-electronic noses for pathogen detection in a TEDx talk in San Diego. In this talk, titled “Giving Humans New Senses Through Technology,” Dr. Aran describes how bioengineering can leverage biological “super sensors” to detect minute electrical signals associated with pathogen presence.
